Last year the place mats at McDonald's offered a discount on tickets.

According to: http://www.igougo.com/travelcontent/JournalEntryActivity.aspx?entryID=1492
" Admission: USD11 for adults, USD7 for seniors (age 60 and over) and children (age 3 to 48 inches). Parking is USD7. Most shows and attractions are free with general admission. Food, rides and drinks operate on a coupon system. Coupons may be purchased at booths situated throughout the grounds."

According to: http://ezinearticles.com/?Texas-State-Fair-and-the-Cotton-Bowl&id=266575
"Those who have tickets to the game can get into the fair for free on the day of, and enjoy both the competition and the fun."

According to the Home page: http://www.bigtex.com/generalinfo/ticketsparking/
"• General Admission: $14
• Kids under 48” tall: $10
• Seniors 60 and over: $10
• Children 2 and under: Free
• Seniors 60 and over: Free every Thursday (Oct. 4, Oct. 11 & Oct. 18)

PARKING:
$10 in lots operated by the State Fair of Texas. Look for "Official State Fair Parking" signs. Valet parking offered at Grand Ave. daily and Haskell/Parry (S/S) gates for $20.

Vehicles occupying more than one space will be charged $10 on a per-space basis. "

Check the rest of the website for more information and other links to find possible discounts or how to use DART to save money on the parking.

Tickets can be bought at Kroger so you might get a discount ticket there. You can also get a disconut if you buy a season pass and go several times.

If you go to ticketmaster: http://www.ticketmaster.com/promo/1ihoyq
And enter the code word SCHOOL you can get a discount on tickets for the Lion King at the Texas State Fair.

School children can get discount tickets and if you go to this Google search you might find some deals that I couldn't find: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22Texas+State+Fair%22%3Adiscount+tickets
