1 Million dead since 2003...
The decimation of a once stable country...
The attempt to steal the oil resource of the Iraqi people...
The installation of a puppet regime to facilitate the oil contracts...

Unfortunately for the neocons, the Iraqi people and politicians will NOT play ball.

Humanist, Iraq is a mess no matter how you slice it, but the fact remains that it is an oil rich nation--and the free world depends on that oil. We can not afford terrorist thugs taking over the region as it would spell disaster for millions of people. This country was never stable. The entire region has been volatile since the beginning of time and any notion of stability was because innocent people were terrorized into keeping quiet or face torture or death.

1. The figure you cited is bogus. It was put out by a group in Great Britain whose methodology in arriving at that figure has proved to be worthless.
2. 85% of Iraqi oil is under contract to Compagnie Petrol De Francais, a French firm. Last time I looked around, there were no French troops in Iraq.
3. The only oil contract with a U.S. firm is one with the Kurds in the three northern provinces of Iraq. It is not with any of the provinces inhabited by Sunni or Shia Muslims.
4. The current Iraq government was elected by the people of that nation in accordance with a constitution which they also ratified with their vote.
5. The country wasn't stable. The Ba'athist regime of Saddam Hussein had waged internal war on both the Kurds and the Shia "marsh arabs" in the South, destroying most of the water infrastructure which supported their way of life.

It's naive to think the US government wouldn't take advantage of a situation for their own benefit. Why haven't we invaded the other dozen or so countries with ruthless dictators ? They have nothing we want to put it plainly. We're not rushing to save Dafur or staging a war with N.Korea so why is it that Hussian became the baddest person on the planet ? The US saw people in need of help.......with oil tanks in the background.

1 million dead? what's your "source"

Stable country?Yes Saddam was always a caring and kind leader. But the Kurds he used chemical weapons on may disagree.

Steal the oil? Where is this stolen oil?

Installation of a puppet regime? Iraqi people elected them, they were not "installed"

Nice Liberal Rant.As usual your question/statement will not stand up to the light of day.

Because their entire platform is based on the "Bogey Man." They're fear mongers, trying desperately to convince American citizens that danger lurks in every dark corner and that they're the only ones who can protect us. They want us to believe that the Iraqi occupation is the primary front against terrorism, when in fact it has made the world and America less safe.

I wouldn't suggest that you meet them in a dark alley to find out.

because many of them spend their time watching Faux News and listening to people like Rush, Hannity, and Beck. And sadly, they believe all that stuff is "truth".

I see truth as telling the news outright, and not then launching into a hate-filled soliloquy for the next 10 minutes.

Okay, I am not scared. What are they?
Once stable country? When 2000 B,C,
Where is all this oil? When does it get here?
Once again, when do we see the benefits of all this ocean of oil?
Neo con? How juvenile. Who will pay the bill? You know so little about government matters and say so much.

Now women in that country can go to school.
The people can vote, and voice their own opinion now.
More schools and hospitals
If you said anything bad about the government in Iraq before you were killed on the spot.

Why don't you acknowledge the facts
