Hi Everyone.... I am 33 and i have PCOS... I had my Ovaries drilled last month, and I started my cycle this month on my own with out medication to start me and took my (first round ) of Clomin 100mg. I went to my physician on the 16th day to see if I were producing any follicals... There were none.... But I also had a VERy Light Cycle, that lasted 13 days. My physican said it wasn't a problem. I do not believe I have ever produced eggs.... I do not have any scar tissue on my uterus, and my ovaries are always normal in size, but I have evidence if small cysts.... How long does it take for the Clomid to work, if at all for women with PCOS... My Physician upped my dose to 150 mg for next month... thanks for any info

I am also on 1500 mg a day of metformin

I took Metformin at 1500mg a day and Clomid at 100mg and I produced 5 follicles and got pregnant my first round at those dosages. When I took Clomid months before that before I saw the specialist it was only at 50mg and nothing happened.. I had a shortened cycle...and no follicles.. Maybe some women need that first cycle to adjust to the medication..but at any rate..do what the Dr tells you and I wish you lots of luck.. I Had a very large cyst on my left ovary for years and I have a diminishing ovarian reserve and I did conceive on Clomid. Just stay positive and hang in there.

I don't have PCOS but I am taking Clomid to lenghten my luteal phase and because I don't ovulate every month. My first round of Clomid I didn't ovulate. My second round I ovulated day 19 and had a cycle 10 days longer than normal but didn't conceive. I am now in the middle of taking my third round of Clomid at 100mg per day. So hang in there and trust your doctor and God and you will conceive.

Unfortunately, many PCOS women are Clomid-resistant. I took it 5 times and never ovulated on it. I also took Metformin for a year and never ovulated. The only way I ovulated was by taking injectable fertility meds (Gonal-F).

I have PCOS, and 150 mg was the "magic" dose for me. I conceived on my 4th round. If you have just started metformin, it can take up to 3 months for it to start working.

I ovulated on 50mg of Clomid in my first round. It's different for some women. I've read messages on this board from women who it did not work for at all.

Just keep working with your doctor. I have a friend who has PCOS and with the help of fertility doctor she did eventually have twins. It's a matter of finding the best formula for you.
