It is a classic. There's a reason all those schlock movies ripped it off for 20 years after it came out.

yes, its a fantastic scary movie..
- it started the slasher film crazy
- it introduced the world to Jamie Lee Curtis
- it also had next to no blood gushing, it was very well done..
scary but not bloody, hard to do..
and dont forget that great theme music...
