aww... i feel for u!!!! im 40 weeks TODAY!!! Today is my due date and other than some mild cramping, nothing has been going on. Like you, I haven't lost my plug, no steady contractions and I'm also 2 cm dilated. I don't know what's going on. Are you having a boy??? It seems like my lil boy is being a trouble maker ;). I'm getting anxious because the doctors told me they would schedule an induction date for me at my appointment yesterday, then I got a phone call and they said they had changed their mind. I have to wait until I go 2 weeks over before they will do something. I'm really frustrated. I don't sleep well either because I'm either running to the bathroom every hour or uncomfortable. I just need this baby to come out!!!!!! Prayerfully I will go into labor tonight. It doesn't look very reassuring because like you nothing is going on. But who knows. I have tried walking but it doesn't seem to be doing much. I've tried the sex thing with my husband numerous times, and that hasn't seemed to help either. I had contractions once and that was it. I don't know what's going on but I hope things begin for you soon. Best wishes to you and your little one. And hopefully hearing someone in the similar predicament will ease your mind a little bit. It did for me. Thanks for posting this :P. Take care!

be careful what you ask for, it is perfectly normal to be comfortable during pregnancy, if you are looking to dilate some more, do some squats and that will help you dilate and it is same for the baby and you, they will tell you this in the hospital, and the pressure is the baby moving and turning like he or she is supposed to do, if this is your first child than you are have nothing to compare to, and i am sure everyone has there opinion as to what is going on but every pregnancy is different, i have 3 kids and they were all different. With my first and second i had no morning sickness, but i craved backing soda i would eat it all the time the doctor said that was why i had no morning sickness it helped with the acid in the stomach, with the last no craving and i was sick for 6 out of 9 months of the pregnancy, i could only eat breakfast foods, bacon eggs toast things like that i could not eat a burger to save my life. Your okay to answer your question and Good Luck

With my second daughter I felt nothing, so much so that at 40weeks I went dancing to a party and was the only pregnant woman jamming to music the whole night. People were like oh my gosh you don't even seem like you are pregnant the way you are moving and my stomach was high up. The very next day I got up that morning made breakfast did the usual house chores and by 3pm that afternoon I gave birth to a 7lb baby girl. In other words sometime you get no warning

It could be a slow process or fast. It's different for everyone. I was also around 2 cm and nothing. But I didn't want to overdue and I am very petite so my doctor agreed to induce me if I was to go beyond 40 weeks. It will happen soon tho! Good Luck and Congratulations!

With my first I never had any real pre-labor contractions. I woke up in the middle of the night in full labor, contractions 5 min apart and my water broke with the 2nd contraction. Had him 9 hrs later.

With this baby I have been contracting evey day for weeks now!!! I didn't know how good I had it the first time!!!

it could be 42 weeks before you go into labor. itll happen when the babys ready.
as for contractions and other signs, i wouldnt bother looking for a "normallity" as everyone woman, baby, pregnancy, and labor can vary greatly. as long as you feel fine, give yourself the confidence that everything IS fine.
if something is wrong, your body will tell you, if you just listen to it.

i know its hard in the end, youre ready to get it over with. but hang in there and know that itll happen when its best for the baby.

good luck.

Everyone is different. My first was 9 days late, second right on the money and my third was 9 days early. My water broke at home with all three without significant contractions. Hang in there...he/she will let you know when it's time! Good luck!

It is perfectly normal! Trust me, you will feel the contractions soon enough! Mine started with a mild cramping (like starting your period), then they progressed getting stronger and much more intense! Just do a ton of walking and rest as much as you can. You may not even notice losing your mucus plug!! Good luck and congrats!!
