A ski resort like Vail or Beaver Creek or Breckenridge. There is the obvious skiing and snowboarding, but also great holiday-memory-making activities: horse-drawn sleigh rides, XC skiing, snowshoeing, charming shops and restaurants, sitting in front of the huge fireplaces, ice skating, etc, etc. It might not be as "catered" as a cruise or all-inclusive resort, but it is much higher quality (especially w/ family) trip.

I think that there is nothing like NYC in Christmas, I live in FL so it's especially nice to be somewhere cold with snow. This year I am going to Vermont and Montreal, which would be nice, last year I did the Bahamas, but it was just like home. Disney is fun too, with the decorations and the parades. It depends on what you are in the mood for.
Good Luck and Have Fun!

This year I am taking a road trip from California to Texas. Ive always spent my christmas in California so this will be a first. Next year we will travel to Florida. I have to say though I agree with other posts ...With family, it doesnt matter where, as long as you are with the ones you love.

New York City might be a great place to go but of course it will be crazy crowded. Boston is nice.
Disneyland in California has got to be great.
San Diego Zoo, is that a possibility? I love that place. They are open. Sea World?

I like to go to a cabin in the woods. Relax and breath in nice fresh good smelling air. Kick back by the fireplace etc. No TV, but board games and cardgames. Candle lights and story telling.

I would never go anywhere for Christmas. (well unless my kids moved far away and we went there) Saved vacation destinations for well, vacations. Spending Christmas with friends and family is the best. IMO
