Here's how I do mine:

Have her soak her paper in water overnight. She can sort it by color if she wants. Then tear the paper into small pieces and put it in the blender with some of the water. Have 1/4 paper to 3/4 water in the blender. Blend it until it's like watery applesauce.

Carry the blended pulp to someplace where you don't mind if everything gets all wet. Pour it into a big pan, like a dishpan or a clean cat litter box.

Make screens out of hardware cloth (quarter inch mesh) with window screen on top of it. Bind the edges with duct tape. My screens are all shapes and sizes, from notepad sheets to legal-size, and all different shapes too.

Take a screen and dip it into the water sidefirst, then bring it up flat. Jiggle it a little to flatten it out even more. Put it on some kind of rack to dry. I use old plastic chaise lounges and odd pieces of fencing lattice. Out in the sun, it will dry in a couple of hours. In the basement, it will take a couple of days.

Carefully peel the paper off of the screen. It will take a few tries to get the paper to the right thickness, and be able to peel it without ripping.

This is a really relaxing activity. I only use recycled paper. My friends all bring me colored flyers, old crepe paper, and especially the coveted plain white with no writing on it. My hubby's secretary saves me the little white dots from when she punches holes in paper.

It's certainly possible to make paper using old paper mushed up and you can add bits of flower petal, leaves, threads and so on. Try looking on Amazon to see if there are any books - to do it successfully you will need a mesh frame and possibly a binder to make the papery bits stick together. Have a look on youtube to see if there are any demos.

i make homemade paper by buying pulp from craft stores, blending it and adding colors, or buying colored pulp. then you put the pulp in a tray of water and you take a screen and you pick up the pulp on it. you should compress the water out, and leave it on another piece of paper. then iron the sheet of pulp while it is inbetween to sheets of paper to get the water out.

also, you can put glitter, leaves or anything else crafty with the pulp to make your paper decorative. hope that helps :)
