I just recently got out of the hospital after being there for a month. I was dialated to 2, and went into preterm labor with my twins. I am fine now, and so are the babies. I am still dialated to 2. I was just wondering if anyone had experienced this and how long you think I will carry for. I am on bed rest also, and I am taking it easy. I just wanted some input.

premature delivery is very common with twins, another few weeks would be best to decrease chances of major complications. Bed rests stinks, you can only do so much laying down, teh first day is great but I got bored quickly after that lol.
I cannot tell you hoe long you will carry those babies for though, if i could tell that I'd be a rich woman by now lol.

Anyway good luck, keep resting. I am hoping in another 10 or 12 weeks you will be here askign how to get them out.

I'm sure you've been told to take it day by day... that is by far the best advice you can get at this point...the longer they stay inside the better their health will be on the outside... as you well know I'm sure.... I was dialate 2 cm for 5 wks before I had my first son... I hope that's a little comfort to you. Worrying will do more harm than the preterm labor will anyways! Relax... easier said than done I know, but you HAVE to for their sake... good luck and God Bless

I was dilated to a 1 at 27 weeks and placed on bed rest.
At 36 weeks, I had to be induced (due to preeclampsia). I was dilated to a 2 when I went in that morning but to a 4 when they started the induction at 1PM.

I suppose it varies. Bed rest is NO fun but try to take it easy and relax. That's really the best you can do. Good luck!!

My wife went through this for the last 8 weeks of pregnancy, The doctors all said that this is normal in allot of women, but you should rest and not lift anything over your head, or lift anything heavier then a gallon of milk.
My wife was at a 4cm, the doctor said that the biggest problem with this is women tend to push when having contractions, even if they are Braxton-Hick Contractions (false Labor). If you are dilated and start to push you could cause damage to the babies head, or even possibly cause you water to break and have either a dry birth or a immediate C-Section and a premature infant.
So take there advise and stay in bed, Let your hubby take care of you. Besides you deserve the extra special treatment.
Congratulations on the New baby!

They mean it when they say bed rest so DO IT! Gravity doesn't help you right now.

I was on bed rest for two months and delivered at 32 weeks with a singleton.

Relax and let them do what is needed.... and don't worry about how long. Take it day by day so it doesnt seem forevers.

My suitable pal had placental abruption at 27 weeks. She went to the scientific expert complaining of discomfort and that they brushed aside her. 2 hours later, she gave beginning. Her toddler had to stay in the NICU for somewhat over a month. yet, now she's an relatively healthy, clever 6 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous. the solid information for you is that docs are conscious of your condition and you gets instantaneous scientific therapy. likely, you will ought to outlive mattress relax for something of your being pregnant.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having complications. Sometimes people don't dilate any further than that for a while. Sometime people don't finish dilating at all and have to have a c section. Be careful and go to the doctor or hospital if you have any contractions or pain or bleeding.

If you stay on bed rest, you should be able to wait at least 2 more weeks. Good luck.
