Sounds like you're either really excited or tired of your wife's mood swings. Either way listen to what the doc has to say and do it. There are lots of ways to induce labor naturally, but as most have said already, until she is ready to come out she is not going to. You didn't give much info on the situation, but if your wife for whatever can't be unduced all you can do is wait it out. I had a c-section with my last son and can't be induced with my current pregnancy so we have to just wait it out and see what happens. Our doc won't let us go beyond 42 wks.
For those of you that think pregnancy lasts 10 months. You are talking about months that last exactly four wks and no month is exactly four wks long. If you went by that 20 wks would not be half way and 20 is half of 40 there for 4.5 months which is half of the 9 months you are pregnant. When figuring wks in a month you always use 4.33 wks not 4. If you did 4 wks in a month that would mean more then 52 wks a yr. Anyway, i think you get the idea. 40 wks is 9 months not 10.
Also our doctor said a lot of women go for super long walks etc to induce labor or speed it up and it's only a coinsidence that they go into labor after. He said not to do this because you will only end up very sore and tired when labor does happen. He has told me to sit with my feet up and not to do anything unless it has to be done.
I hope your wife goes in to labor soon and you both get to hold your baby soon!!!

sex and walking work. But the baby will come when he or she is ready not a moment before. It is possible to get an induction, however the labor pains are a lot worse when induced...I had 2 by induction because of high blood pressure. Other than a medical reason, I would not sugguest going in for c section or induction. Let the baby come on its own.
Good Luck!

Congrats on the new baby. They come in there own time or until the Doctor decides to induce the labor. I know waiting was the hard part, but you are about to be a new father and that is the most important job in the world. Have Fun

The baby will come on it's own... Let it be... There are a few methods to try and help induce labor... But it the baby is not ready to come out it won't... Don't worry... eventually it will... and if the doctor notices any risks with the baby being in there then they will take it out... Be patient... Your little one is probably not done cooking yet... ;o)

The doctor gives a woman her due date with a margin of error that includes 2 weeks before the date or two weeks after the due date. Hang in there, baby will come when it's time.

I walked and walked all day and at 7pm that evening I went into labor. But he didn't want to come so I was in labor for 36 hours. Ouch! But that was almost 20 years ago. Did I mention the tablespoon of Castor Oil before I started walking? Good Luck and God Bless.

My doctors orders were lot of walking and lots of sex! Though niether of them helped until my induction was scheduled. You can have her sit in a hot bath (but not for too long), and something that is supposed to work for most women is Caster Oil. If she drinks about 3 oz. she should go into labor (it may be a little uncomfortable because this is a laxative, and make sure she's close to a bathroom). I tried all of this and for me... it didn't work, but there are lots of things tat she can do to try and induce herself. Hope some of this helps for her.

I'm 20 years old and #2 of 8 children. Trust me on this, have her do the following:
-Eat Taco Bell.
-Take a hot hot shower (not bath).
-Stimulate her nipples in the shower.
-Have sex.
-Make sure your hospital bag is packed.
-Have sex.

The taco bell makes her need to move her bowels, which tends to help the process in some women. Hot shower relaxes her. Stimulating her nipples releases Oxytocin causing the uterus to contract. Sex helps because semen is a natural prostaglandin that helps the cervix thin and dilate (so guys, this only helps if you ejaculate INSIDE her vagina). The rest is self explaining.
If this doesn't work, Junior just isn't ready yet. Be patient... and HAVE FUN. This is a HUGE milestone in your lives... enjoy it.

Give the baby time,
it happens many times and it is not necessary wrong.
He will born for sure. You just relax and wait until the nature do the job.
Besides, what if he is not ready for this world yet?
