...I couldn't recommend more highly, the independent, outrageously over-the-top and deathly grim & apocalyptic 1993 blood-sucking horror shocker, "Darkness" (...not the recent Anna Paquin starring film)...

...all due credit to the what is probably the second best obscure vampire film mention so far, namely "Near Dark", "Darkness" makes "Near Dark" look like a Disney film...

...any viable description I could afford you, regarding this film, would hardly due the film justice; you just have to see this film, to believe it...

...I would also most highly recommend the rare Spanish horror import, and the humble directorial beginnings of now-famed director Guillermo del Toro ("Blade II", "Hellboy"), namely "Chronos"; in this ghoulish little oddity, an invaluable, ancient golden scarab-shaped art piece, houses a parasite that incurs a symbiotic relationship with an old museum curator....a little blood, in exchange for supernaturally-instilled immortality. However, a side effect to the unholy relationship, is an additionally instilled insatiable bloodlust...

"Innocent Blood" with Anne Parillaud ("La Femme Nikita").
She bites a gangster (Robert Loggia), and problems ensue.
It's very funny.

"Marie has two appetites, sex and blood. Her career as a vampire is going along fine until two problems come up, she is interrupted while feeding on Sal (the shark) Macelli and she begins to develope a relationship with the policeman who has been trying to put Sal away. Sal wakes up in the morgue very confused and very thirsty. He goes back to his old haunts and begins to create an organized crime family of vampires while Marie and her policeman lover hunt him."
