i think its a nice name. but when i hear it i think of that horrible female rapper who made a song about licking her neck, back and unmentionables.

Actually, it's quite a common name ... part of a huge trend of similar names at the moment (Maia, Mia, Kyla, Kia, Kai, Jaia, Jada, Nia, Naia, etc.), not to mention the K-names trend in general (Kayla, Kaileigh, Kailyn, Kaitlyn, Kiera, Kyra ...). So while some might find it unusual on an older girl or woman, you'll notice it quite often on birth announcements and kindergarten lists nationwide. LOL I think it's safe to say most won't even bat an eye, much less think it so "horrible," as this man apparently did.

I think Kaia is a great name. Very original you don't hear very often. I have met only one person with the name Kaia.

Horrible. I used Caia as a pen name for writing fantasy when I was 14, and unfortunately the nickname stuck in my writing communities but I'm embarrassed by it now. Don't inflict it on an actual child.

No it's not. Kaia is a pretty name. I kno 2 little girls with that in their names. My little cousin's name is Takiyah, but we call her Kiyah. My friend's daughter's name is Zakiya. We call her Ky. =). It's pretty!!! Don't worry. What exactly was his name for him to say u had the worst name he had ever heard???

It's unusual. But it doesn't sound as bad as some names I've heard. Tell the guy to get a life.

I love it. Im not sure if it is derived from it, but Kai in Japanese and Hawaiian means Ocean.

I like it and it is easy to pronounce. It reminds me of a mix of Kai and Gaia (The Greek goddess of the Earth:)

I recently heard that name and added it to my favorite baby name list! I love it, I think it's a really pretty name! And definitely not too ordinary, but not too weird either.

The pronounced name is nice, but the spelling is a bit out there and confusing.
