Would you ever shave your head to be a good buddy to a friend who has cancer and lost all her hair? I did and it feels soooooooo good! I don't have to primp in the morning and there's a feeling of freedom and confidence that I never had before. Not to mention all the laughs and hugs from my friend who's mighty sick. But what about you? Could you do it?

Nooneca I went to a garage sale Saturday... I went to pay the lady and she looked at my head and said, "Ohhhhhhhhhhh, Are you OK? I think that's the only downfall. If people don't know the real story, they feel sorry for me... (I'm so healthy tho)

I had to have my head shaved when it started falling out from the cancer treatments. I would not ask anyone to do it with me. It took a long time before I would go anywhere without something on my head. It was nice not to worry about my hair though. After a few months I started getting really brave and would go shopping with my bare head exposed for all to see. I got some pretty interesting looks!

I hope the best for your friend and it sounds like she's lucky to have you there to help her along the way!

I've always said I wanted to shave my head because I hate doing my hair! I would shave my head for a friend in need of comfort anyday!

Kudos to you, you're an awesome friend. I'm glad to know people in the world are as loving and kind as you.

I would have to think about that..one of our local schools had a write up in the paper a couple of years ago about the 1st grade boys that had shaved their heads in solidarity with a classmate that had lost his hair to chemo..good for them..

I was fortunate enough to lose mine through Chemo, and 4 of my mates did it, and we are all in our 60's, we had the most fun ever, first by buying the silliest hats we could find, second wearing them, and third, having a bet who's hair would grow back fastest lol

I would hug her, visit, and bring her meals and goodies to make her fat. I am not a shave your head kind of gal. I am still holding onto my vanity.
