I read it a on a friend of mine's blog...I thought it was very interesting. I agree with some things on it and I disagree with other things

lemme know what you guys think?

"Don't hate me because I am white.

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.

You call me "Cracker", "Honkey", "Whitey" and even "The Man" and you think it's OK.

But when I call you, "******", "Kike", "Towelhead", "Sand-******", "Camel Jockey", "Beaner" or "Chink" you call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

You say that you want to make a change in this country.

How? By protesting everything that we believe in? By trying to change everything that has made this country run fine for centuries?

You have Martin Luther King Day.

You have Cesar Chavez Day.

You have Yom Hashoah

You have Cinco de Mayo

You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi

If we had a White Pride Day you would call us racists.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights.

If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.

You enjoy the thought of Driver's Licenses for illegals.

We enjoy the thought of people obeying the laws of the land in which they reside. No negotiations.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it.

But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

You call each other "******", but when we call you that, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us.

But, when a white police officer shoots a gang member or beats up a drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.

We work hard to preserve our history.

You come along and try to re-write it.

We want a safe environment for our families and children.

You want to bring the ghetto to our neighborhoods.

I am white.

I am proud.

I am an American.

But, you call me a racist.

I agree. It is a hypocritical one way street and it makes me angry.

Kind of like men vs. women. Its acceptable for a man to sleep with many women but a woman must remain pure or else she is a sl*t, wh**e etc etc and I think its unfair.

I think that it is unfair that this stuff is allowed. I am white, I am proud of my heritage, I am not racists. It is unfair that we have to down play our own pride just because others take offense.

These Mexicans marching in our streets, their Mexican flags raised higher than our own nations.......and we allow this? Why? Because its their heritage, their pride.

A white man has a small bumper sticker that says Rebel Pride and he is a racists, how dare he have a bumper sticker like that, everyone is offended and its a disgrace. Forget the fact that his ancestors fought and died in that war, he only has it because he is racists.

It's because this nation is full of cowards. Simply stated.

This is a sticky question. I think that people should rightly be offended when hearing someone announce that their own race is "better" in some way, or when someone spouts some racist drivel. However, the only racist drivel I've heard lately has been from the occasional Black person. My ancestors were recent immigrants from Sweden, Ireland, and France, and came to this country, dirt-poor, after 1900. I'm am beyond sick of hearing how I am somehow responsible for slavery or "the man" keeping other folks down. "The Man" kept *my* great-grandparents down, too, because they were poor and didn't speak english very well. So they worked hard, made sure the kids studied hard in school, and here I am today. "The Man" is a select group of people, and just because they all happen to be rich white males doesn't mean that I owe anyone anything because I'm also from European stock. I think that this country is such a great mix of ethnicities. I love that my kids are learning about other cultures and are learning to speak some Spanish. That being said, I can cook great Swedish pancakes, but I can also speak English, can get along well with all sorts of people, and can do things like use the subway system. If you come to the great melting pot of America, be prepared to melt a little. I'm a fan of Black History month, and I don't like some of the obnoxious stuff in the guy's rant. At the same time, I don't have to apologize for being Euro-American. Racism drives me nuts, and directing it at people like me is just as insane as directing it towards a minority. I don't have any guilt issues about my race, sorry.

Are we adults or children here. I think that it is fair to say that many white people have a racist streak in them, just as black people and any other race out there. It is just that some are stronger and much bolder than others. MLK day is significant to us because of what Mr. king did for equality. You have to understand that many people have been hurt and affected by this. The same holds true for Mexican with Cinco De Mayo. And you say you want a White pride dday who is stopping you. The million man march was a symbol of equality and unity for men and fathers alike. The word N&*^&* means ignorant and has hurt many of our forefathers to the core. In the African American culture it is used totally different from the way you would refer to it. I say do what you do, if you want a white pride march formed then go ahead and start it, I would not care one bit, but what you must also think about is the meaning of the march, will it have meaning, does it bash other races. The million man march never even touched on racism. And there are white pride marches they are formed by the KKK. They have been doing it for years and we all know they are RACISTS. The other comment about the ghettos being the most dangerous areas and wanting to bring the ghetto into "your" community is a crock. Yes, ghettos are hard core and I agree that the ghetto is not the best place to live but that does not make them all bad. The ghettos quite simply are places where no one really cares to make it better, no one wants to take the time to rebuild and spruce up the place. I grew up in some hard parts but I never experienced the ghetto life until i moved to Texas and nearly lost my life for walking into a community where no blacks were allowed. Yeah, it is still existant and you wonder why so many people feel the way they do.

First of all, coming from a Caucasian teenager, keep in mind African-American people didn't have many rights for years and years until around 1957. Before that they were often 'segregated but equal' (but ideally they were not equal). Regardless, they are still discriminated against today. Just put yourself in their places. In the 1800's they were often in debt and forced into sharecropping and had virtually no chance in life. They could not vote because they were already in debt from the sharecropping. How would that make you feel? A lot of Caucasians don't even have a clue of all the hardship this race has had to endure. I have no problem with African-Americans having more holidays revolving around their race, good for them, I'm happy for them. We have holidays celebrating us too, but they're not necessarily all just about being white.

The phrase "white pride" was and is often used by the Klu Klux Klan, so that is why many deem that offensive. I personally find the n-word very offensive regardless of the race that says it. I'm not cool with even African-Americans calling each other the n-word. Even after Imus' rant, we learned that people are starting to come down hard on racism. I think people should start to come down even harder. Not all African Americans want to bring the ghetto to white neighborhoods. They're not the only race that robs, carjacks and shoots at others. I think it is very unfair and immoral for anyone to stereotype people based on their race.

It is racist, and I am sorry I just don't hear people being called cracker etc, as much as you do another race. It is uasually people of color who are called or thought of as that are considered living in the getto. If someone doesnt get offended by someone calling them something like that it is because they are friends or the same race they dont want someone from the outside doing it because he becomes defensive. It wasen't when it was a friend. Wierd and that's not to say it is right, but that is how it works. Sounds to me like your friend wears white and shaves his head. People are people for what is inside not becuase the color of your skin. People need to realize this and go on with there lives. Also those are all cultures that were never exepted so that is why they celebrate them. We celebrate Presidents Day and Thanksgiving every year and pilgrims and cowboys were white. No one is being left out. Also I would like to add that my mother is white and my father is black, and I am proud of who I am. I have seen all types of people struggle and live like others dont it has nothing to do with race. I have seen people lie and cheat from all races as well. Take off the white sheets and act as humans should is just what your friend needs to hear.

I agree with you some of it is wrong and some of it I agree with. I don't think it's fair to say "you" when talking about other races like every person that isn't white is doing this stuff. White racial slurs like "cracker", "honkey", "whitey" or whatever have never bothered me. However a valid point was recently brought to my attention. If only one maybe two white people were in a large place with a large group of another race and being called those names. Would that person feel nervous or scared or feel differently than being called that when a majority of the people around were white as well.

The problem with mantras like "white pride" and "white power" are that historically they've been used as a justification for atrocities committed against other races. For the most part, those who advocate "black power" or "brown pride" have done so to encourage minority achievement. Although some proponents of black power have been guilty of racism and violence, their crimes pales in comparison to the genocide practiced by the Nazis, KKK, and other advocates of white power.

You have every right to be proud to be white. No one says there is anything wrong with it. The problem is when you think white is superior and that is what people have a problem with. Thinking yu are superior to other races because you are white. That is the difference. I am very proud of being hispanic but I don't think that makes me better then a white, black or chinese. At the same time I am also white and I am proud of that. My skin color is white but I am hispanic.

Unfortunatley it's true. A few weeks ago, a white kid was killed by a gourp of black kids and nothing was done. but when one white police officer shoots a black kid in self defense(thinking he had a weapon and doing what he was trained), we have riots and savage things going on. People can call me racist, but I believe it's being realistic that it goes in all directions. I hate it when white, black,a sian, mexican do it to the other races. We're all human, so why can't we just get along with that?
We don't need to pay people for what happened hundreds of years ago, either. I didn't enslave anybody, and nobody in my time was enslaved.

What about the Hebrews? They were enslaved but you don't hear much of that anymore...

What about back when slavery was happening, Tribes sold their own people to peole accross the world?

SHould it have happened? No, but it ie just need to put it behind and move on. Plus get rid of Jackson and Sharpton because they're some of the biggest racists out there.

And for those metioning the KKK, What about the Black Panthers???? I don't believe in either one, but since one was mentioned.....

I've never been racist my whole life, but when I see it happening to me or my ethnic group, I get a bit upset and deffensive, but never racist. But people can call me racist for stating what I've seen or heard or grew up with and being upset with that, I don't care. It just shows how ignorant and racist they are too.

And yes, white people DO have a clue as to how people were done in the past, I was educated at school too, like alot of others. But as I GREW UP, I started to see things for myself, like many do when they mature into adulthood, we're not "guided" or led down a brainwashing one-sided road anymore, we can see and think for ourselves now.

I totally agree and I'm not racist i have friends of every color creed shape and size but i find it sickening that i can be called cracker honky and various other slang and I'm supposed to sit back and take it but if i reply with slang against their race i would be arrested for a hate crime. The past is past let it go god made us ALL and he will judge us one day for the way we have all judged each other
