Lactose intolerant in adults is quite common. I really don't know if babies can be lactose intolerant or not. In adults it affects a person with bloated stomach, intestinal gas and diarrhea. I would recommend calling your pediatrician and talk to him or her.
Edit:
I just did a google search on your question. This is what I found from a web site.
Symptoms of Baby Lactose Intolerance
If your baby has any of the following symptoms, he or she may have lactose intolerance, although a milk allergy is more probable.
Colic
Crying
Spitting up (reflux)
Gas
Loose stools
Eczema
Ear infections
This is the web site I found that on: http://www.foodallergysolutions.com/lactose-intolerance.html
If you go into this web site, click on Lactose Intolerance in babies link.

You probably should find out from your doctor whether she might be or not, but with my daughter I didn't notice until she was like 1 yrs old. But I think it was the whole milk so she had to be placed on the silk milk. I'm not really sure if just the throwing up is a sign of being lactose intolerant. If there are other signs such as diarrhea or being gaseous then yes it maybe a possibility.

I think the biggest sign would be that the child is very gassy. Our twins are both on soy formula. Our little boy would get horrible stomach aches and be very gassy. His little belly would be so hard and he would just cry. Once we switched to soy, there was no problem any more. They are now 9 months old. They have some dairy now, like yogurt, pudding, a little ice cream. They have no problem with that so it appears that they have grown out of the intolerancy.
It's normal for babies to spit up. If that's the only thing she's doing, I doubt that it's because of the formula.

Like I replied on your final question, our infants had to be placed on soy formulation because of the fact of being lactose illiberal. while it replaced into time to commence solids, point a million infant foodstuff is only superb. if your in question, examine the label. somewhat frequently, a infant will strengthen out of being lactose illiberal. the only thank you to inform is to objective and supply her some thing with milk. We tried a touch yogurt. there replaced into no situation. So we gave them a touch extra the subsequent time. Now they eat yogurt, pudding, a touch ice cream, cheese...they seem to have grown out of the lactose intolerance. Having twins, our boy replaced into illiberal and our woman had a milk allergy. Her pores and skin broke out. as quickly as we placed her on soy, it went away and by no potential got here back. So she grew out of her allergy too, as having dairy lower back has not brought about her to interrupt out to any extent further. if your infant is only spitting up a touch, each and every now and then, i actually doubt that it is as a results of being lactose illiberal.

My son became lactose intolerant at 15 months old. He suddenly started having diarrhea. When I took away the dairy products; his diarrhea ceased. I waited a couple of weeks and tried milk again and he got diarrhea.

You should hop over to Dr Sears' website: askdrsears.com
He has a lot of information about food allergies, but I think what you want to see is in "The Baby Book" - it's a discussion on when and how to know when spitup is actually more than a laundry problem. He calls what she's doing "happy spitting." Unless she's wailing and crying while spitting up, and then he suggests she may have GERD.
From my personal experience, food allergy issues (and intolerances too) come out the behind, not the mouth.

My son is lactose intolerant. He was gassy and cried constantly while on breast milk and regular formula. He had "explosive" poops too. He's on similac LF and he's a totally different baby!
