I've been married for over 13 years now.

i was with my ex for 3 1/2 years and he wanted to be friends. it only made things worse and it was my fault for staying in it for too long. so I've been out of a relationship for 2 days now.
I'm done with crying. now i just want to have time for myself.

It's been almost two years.
*My (ex) wife of 13 yrs. left the kids and me (divorce action) about two years ago.
*The kids are with me for now (the past 6 months, after being with her for about six months).
* To ensure that I'll keep myself out of another relationship, I go out of my way to stay super busy.
**The kids and their activities.
**Martial arts tournament sparring obligations.
*I will NEVER trust another person with my feelings ever again.

For me, the last honest real relationship was five years ago. Finally got tired of meeting guys who forgot what it is to care about someone besides themselves. Alone is better.
