I'm looking for alternative means to travel from Seattle to Anchorage. Are there passenger boats/ferries? How expensive are they? How long do they take?

I've taken this trip, it's wonderful. As good a cruise, for less than a 1/4 of the money. Takes 4 days to get to Skagway, at least it did when I took the trip.

There are passenger ferries and they are relatively inexpensive. Rates would vary depending on if you would like a cabin, where you would be getting on/off, size of vehicle, etc. But the view...AMAZING!! Same passage as a cruise ship at a fraction of the cost. Enjoy your trip!

There aren't ferries that will bring you to Anchorage. I think it drops you off in Haines and then you have to drive.
