I'm certain that neo-cons will attempt to spin this as they did Limbaugh's slanderous "phony soldiers" comment.

Actually it was disorderly conduct - for arguing with the police officer. The charge on which he plead had zero to do with the allegations of sexual misconduct.

Look, I've now read up on this guy's past and the history of similar accusations of lewd behavior, and he's probably guilty.

But that doesn't change the fact that the procedures that the cop was using in this case were pretty open to interpretation. Either that or the police report left out a lot of detail. Or there's some universal sign I don't know about that means come into my stall.

I guess I don't want to go to make a number two, have my car keys fall out of my pocket, reach down, pick them up, put them back in my pocket, and then find EITHER a cop OR a homo in my stall.

It's sad that the court gives the green light for those cops to continue railroading people. This is a cash cow for this police department and they do this because they know the charges are embarrassing and many people are ignorant of their rights. Scores of people arrested but not one single incident where induviduals were actually caught engaging in said behaviour. People arrested for hand motions, gestures, foot placement, but not one single arrest for any men caught in the act. Even in communist China it is unthinkable that tapping your feet in a bathroom will get you arrested with loss of job and career. This is the only country in the world that gives people so many chances to convict themselves for something they didn't even do.

The biggest flaw, in my opinion, with politicians supported by the religious right is their holier-than-thow attitudes and their attempt to legislate morality.

I can handle a difference of political opinions on the war, economics, social programs, etc. But these politicians will say and do anything to get the support of the religious right. Hypocrisy is the worst thing for any politician.

maybe he should have just dressed in bondage and whipped a guy in the street calling it a festival and he would never have been charged with anything.

He'll need a very good excuse to hold on to his senate seat.

If he wasn't so hypocritical, it would be a sad thing. I still feel bad for his family. He has destroyed them.
