Everytime I restart my computer, there is no sound. I have to go to Add Hardware wizard and unintstall the "AC'97 Audio" and re download it. Why does it keep messing up and not working?

My motherboard has the same audio card and it crackles so I now use a SoundBlaster card. Did you ever have a different sound card on your PC? If you did you might need to go into the device manager and uninstall the other one. If that is not the problem try checking the manufacturer site for any updates for your device it might be the drivers.

Hi. There is a free program called QuickMix that will restore the setting if they get changed. http://www.ptpart.co.uk/quickmix/ In your case it sounds like you may have a corrupt file either in the OS or the driver section. May have to reinstall the OS.
