Depends on what is being censored and by whom.
Parents need to act as censors to control access to things that their young children are not yet mature enough to handle -- that is good.
Self censorship means that you have made a decision not to allow certain kinds of things into your life. That is your privilege and shows that you know who you are and what your values are.
Censorship that tries to control the free exchange of ideas among adults is almost always a bad thing. If all ideas are allowed expression, people can use their minds and hearts to decide which to accept and which to reject.

I don't think that censorship is always a good thing. I think that sometimes people need to be exposed to violent/sexual/mature subjects. I think it helps us mature and grow up.
