Marilyn vos Savant claims to have the highest IQ, but it has not been verified, she says she got a 228. (mind you she took the test when she was 10)
Steven Hawking is regarded as the smartest man, he discourages such talk. His iq has been estimated to be between 197 and 215.
There are a number of high iq societies.
I have an iq of 139, which is considered genius level but if Hawkings refuses the label who am i to accept it.

IQ has nothing to do with who is the "smartest" person in the world. there are other attributes of intelligence than this, EQ, for instance, that also need to be factored in.
If I were to say who the smartest person in the world was, I would say Bill Gates. You can google the info about him yourself, but chances are you are using a machine that depends on something his company produced.
If windows suddenly ceased to exist an hour from now, what would happen to the world?

Such a person would, unquestionably, in view of the horrors and aggravation that would await him/her if she/he were known to the madding crowd, maintain absolute anonymity at all times.
Hint: such person will not be found in the "white house".

The Dalai Lama. He lives in Tibet, he was exiled there. He has written many books, given many speeches people from all over the world travel just to hear him speak. He is a great philosopher and peace activist too.Here is a link:
