It could simply be a misconfigured browser, but it's very possible you have either a virus or spyware that's trying to "dial home". If you haven't done so recently, update your antivirus and antispyware programs, then run a full scan. If you don't have one or the other installed, you can go to Trend Micro's housecall site, which has a free online antivirus/antispyware program you can run from their site. You may want to try that even once your installed software is up to date, just as a backup.

You may have deleted the connection, but the computer is probably still set to "always dial a connection" under the internet options.
Go into your control panel and select "internet options" from there click on the "connections" tab and check the "never dial" option.
If you are unable to do so, you probably have some kind of spyware or virus set to automatically dial up. If that is the case you need to run a virus scan and spyware scan.

You need to go in under your computer properties and and reset your IP address on it.
Cut off your computer, your modem and your router. Then leave it off for about 45 seconds. Then slowly turn back on each thing, one at a time, see if this helps you.
Also, you can go under ,whoever your computer program is by, like AOL> Verizon, etc and get online walk thru help from them.
You can , also, call your router company , the number should be on the router bottom. They will walk you through the IP address reloading procedure.
We have had this problem a couple of times, this all helped us.
Hope this helps you and fixes your problem.
Good Luck!!

if as you said, u already set IE option to 'never dial a connection, it is impossible that IE would still try to connect thro' dial-up.
now if a 'blank' page comes up in IE after you turn on your wifi network and properly set IE to 'never dial a connection', it is most likely that your wifi network has not been set up correctly and is not yet working. You should not see the dial up prompt.
the simplest way to check whether your network is on is to go to your dsl modem's setup page (it will be something like 192.168.0.1 (check yr manual and type the number in your IE address bar, hit 'return'). if u can see the default page, u should be ok. if u cannot access the modem's default page, your network is not set up correctly.

It is your browser setting that is causing this problem.
Go into the 'Internet Options' menu and remove the dialup instructions.
Good luck!
