As soon as I play my ipod, once I get the icon saying it is fully charged, it plays for an hour then dies.

I have just restored it to its factory settings, will this make the battery last longer?

Depends on your settings. If your backlight settings was set to remain on, at full brightness, than yes. Wont be enough to make much of a difference.
I had the same prob. w/ my iPod. You will more than likely have to replace the battery.

I very own 2. One, a 60 gig fourth era iPod photograph continues to be taking costs and works completely. i've got as much as date the firmware and not in any respect had an argument to ***** approximately. it fairly is the beginning up of the third 3 hundred and sixty 5 days i've got had that. the 2d, a known gen iPod Nano is each and each piece as stable. i take advantage of it in my vehicle instead for the uninteresting radio stations the place I stay. it fairly is somewhat a 300 and sixty 5 days previous. To be truthful, I did placed it in a slipcase on day one and have not taken it out.

No it won't. All that has happened is that it's been restored to factory settings.

It sounds to me like the battery in your ipod is on its last legs and will have to be replaced.

Visit a site like http://www.ilounge.com which has information about what to do about a replacement battery. You can buy one and put it in yourself (can be tricky) or send it away to somewhere else to be replaced (back up your music first!)

you neecd to use itunes to 'restore it'' and get the latest updates.. also, whenyou finish playing music- if its a hdd iPod then you need to goto the last song on a playlist etc, and press (>>I ) that stops hdd spinning and preserves battery, also, keep backlight to a minimum on all iPods, and use the clickwheel to select tracks instead of I<<&>>I as that keeps hdd spinning....

No, restoring doesnt do anything other than erase everything that you put on there, including the settings.

no it wont last longer it could just be that the battery is old or maybe you need to charge it longer

no it doesn't, these batteries don't last for ever, you have to send them off to get the battery replaced or buy a new one. thats why they're crap.
