Not only in the schools, but back into the homes as well. This"time out" crap has got to go. Giving a child a good swift whack on the *** will not scar a child. Our children are being pussified and it's not good for anyone.

I am not a baby boomer and i think we should. I am 31 and growing up I was taught to respect my elders and use yes sir and yes ma'am. I work with kids as young as 6 and most of them have no respect. you did not have the problems back than that you have know. Parents want to be their child's Best friend and not a parent. My dad who was born in 1950 told me that if he was outside and was being bad that there was times the lady or gent would give him the paddle and by time my grandfather got home he knew from the neighbors that dad was being naughty. times have changed and most of the kids now are out of control.

No. Would you want some of your teachers to be able to hit you? And, having taught for many years, I can honestly say that not being allowed to hit students has helped me. If I were allowed to do it, there's no telling how hard some would get paddled.

Spare the rod, spoil the child. We signed a form once, allowing teacher reprimands.
