Our human nature won't allow us to forget about meaning. It is always in our mind. It is vitally important to us whether we admit it or not.
Meaning is the same as worth and worth requires purpose. Things that have no purpose have no worth. Real purpose requires God by the very definition of the word "purpose".
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
I think that God put our need for meaning into our human nature to point us to seek Him. It's an invitation that can be refused or accepted.
Christians believe that God wants us to seek Him by obeying His command to love our neighbors for where love is, there God is also.
If we reject God, we also reject real purpose and real meaning and our lives are pointless. We then must invent imaginary purposes and convince ourselves they are real in order to avoid insanity or suicide.

LOL! As you suggest, the only person who doesn't think about the meaning of life is the person for whom life has no meaning, in other words, a person in a coma. 8^)
Every time you make a plan for the future, even later in the day, every time you make a decision about your lifeo get married or divorced, to get a job or leave a job, etc.--you are thinking about the meaning of your life, the purpose of your life, and how you can best achieve it! Do you vote because you want to see changes in how your state or country are run? That is a meaning-of-life issue. If you take a class or read a book for any reason beyond sheer entertainment, that has to do with achieving a goal, accomplishing a purpose that is related to the meaning of life.
So no, I would say we are constantly considering the meaning of life. What could possibly be more important to think about?

Like many philosophycal questions,"what's the meaning of life?" doesn't have a consensual answer - it couldn't be otherwise, since each person views the reality differently and so you can find as many answers as people in this wide world. Just because you know you can't get a single and satisfying answer,it doesn't mean you should stop searching. Deep inside,I think no one would like to know the answer - if there is one - because that would narrow our horizons. Besides, once the answer was given, then what?

Its an innate part of why we are humans to cross that thought of validating or revalidating re-analywing the meaning of life, that we discover or may have experienced something so catharthic, that we always end up fighting or dying for it. Literally and hypothetically, we do. Sometimes we dont need to be sooo deep in analyzing it. We do discover the meaning in mundane things. esp. with a happy vibrant feeling or simple joys, which is so precious, that its etched in our minds or poetically saying, in our hearts. We never stop discovering and living life no matter what, conciously or not.

We have to think all this stuff because if we don't think them we don't exist"cogito ergo sum". My opinion is that when you can think all of those things you are in track to achieve the meaning of life. The rel meaning is the meaning that we give to life. I believe that we are waisting our life not thinking what is the meaning and imagine that we had all ready founded. Never stop thinking it but try to find a way to make you acts and thoughts functional and most of all make your existence important to everyone.

There is no universal meaning for life.
It is only about what it means to you~
