I remember there was a RIP option on it, but I don't find it anymore.

Maybe only certain versions of Windows Media Player have that RIP version to ripping and converting to MP3 format?

And do you know any other FREE softwares that I can download for converting audio files to MP3 format with minimum limitations?

u put them in data format. i use NERO, i think u should use that.

I can't help you with media player. I use CDex to rip my CD's into mp3's. CDex is 'freeware'
