I had a package delivered to my old address which is about 20 miles from my house. I'm getting pretty angry about the situation, I have a 250$ item. The status says "forwarded" from over a week and a half ago. How long does it take to travel 20 miles?

Yes, priority mail will be forwarded for the same period of time that first class mail will be forwarded, which is one year. Parcel post is forwardable, but not free of charge. Sometimes mailers use certain endorsements on packages, and depending on the endorsement, the package may be returned to the sender with the new address information. These endorsements are mainly used by companies, not private individuals. They are in effect saying, 'We want the correct address and we will pay for the information." This may cause a delay in getting your package.
