Agreed that she must go back to the doctor.
The doctor may need to prescribe some home care that address wound care. It may actually be a physical therapist trained in the areas of what is called debridement and or electrical stimulation to the area to increase blood flow for faster healing.
Also a PT may be helpful in working with you and or other family members who care for her to teach you all some alternate positioning alternatives during the day.
I am not trying to sound rude but it sounds like mom has been on her back in bed much too long as sores like this start from the inside out and are due to lack of proper blood flow to the areas in question.

Yes the defication will indeed make it worse as it is not sterile.

I could write more and will answer any questions if you want to email me. Main thing is she needs to get back to the doc and the doctor needs to get some orders in place that will get her some help. That may be home care or it may be hospitilization...depending on the severity.

You have to make it so there is not pressure on it. You can make a bandage with a hole in it.
or use some kind of coushion. But it needs air to heal. Also you have to keep it clean. two or three times a day. If it gets bad you have to go see a Doctor. I had a brother who was a Quadroplgic. We had to take care of him. Make she she moves her self. She should stay an one position for any large amount of time. She should set a timer where she can adjust her self ever hour or two. Even if she has to have a pillow on one side and switch it.

Good Luck I know its hard. But she could be worse and be glad that she is not.

First she needs to go to the doctor or a wound care center. The Pressure ulcer needs to be evaluated for how deep it is and if it is showing signs of healing. The Doctor, nurse,or center can prescribe different types of gels or ointments or a type of treatment that will work best for the type of ulcer your mother has. Must do something right away because complications can develop and she can even get infected from the ulcer and spread.
Another important thing is to keep her clean and dry at all times and make sure she is constantly shifting from side to side ot avoid putting pressure on that site. Yes, they are donuts she can sit on but Its controversial if it helps.
Good luck and please follow up.

If you have been informed your blood stress is ordinary via ur MW, then it's. Normal blood pressures are a hundred and twenty/eighty, so you continue to have low blood stress, however that is ordinary for the duration of a being pregnant. Your swollen ankles and arms would be swollen as a result of the strain of sporting an eight-month tummy. Don't fear an excessive amount of approximately it, I realize it's less complicated stated than performed, and check out to not do any straining paintings and no longer consume something too salty. Good success!

The area needs to be clean & dry at all times...and she needs to be kept off this area as much as possible...pressure sores
start when a person is kept in one spot to long...there is no blood flow to that area and then it breaks down...try supporting her with pillows to take the pressure off that area...let me know if I can help you...I have been an RN for over 25 years.
Good Luck...
