I've heard them say it during an interview. There is also a movie about this band where they say it several times.

wow, i got to star this one...took some time and searching but I think I might have found it...The Osmonds, they had a christmas album in 1976, and Hold Her Tight was compared to the Immigrant song.

As much of an avid Led Zeppelin fan as I am, I am completely rattled by your question here. I can't even begin to think of a single group that could even dream of comparing.
One thing I would like to know is, how do you know that this group said such a thing? How is it proven it was said?

I think that The Doors were way better than Led Zeppelin. "The End" alone blows Led Zep out of the water.
