I have lots of experience with this one.

I have only once received a perfume that wasn't what it should have been. The seller had no idea - the clue was the package.

Be up front with the seller - ask questions on what if it wasn't the actual perfume. If they are willing to take it back.

BUT - since I have purchased the MAJORITY of my perfume on eBay and have had only ONE problem. I think you'll be ok.

yes unfortunately this is not a safe buy. you can't smell or see it first hand at all. shoot for all you know they can pour water in the perfume bottle and send it to you. Even though that's not likely you should still consider the chances that you might not get what you want. I dont think you should waste your time with buying perfume off of ebay.

I say go for it! I purchase from Ebay all the time and have also purchased fragrances from there as well. I have never had a problem. I do look to purchase from people who have at the least a 98% rating and state the item is NEW (never used). A lot of people on ebay have specialty stores and just so happen to go through ebay to sell as well.

You need to look at the seller's feedback, get one as close to 100% as possible. Read what feedback other buyers have left for that seller and you can usually tell if this seller is trustworthy.
I had good luck in the perfume I bought. The bottle turned out to be smaller than advertised and on pointing that out to the seller, sent me another cologne that I had commented on- free of charge. I think it was an honest mistake on her part. I was pleased al around. There are good sellers out there.

Check out the seller's feedback - do they have a high positive rating? Read the comments from other buyers - anything about the perfume they sell being fake? If it's fake, the buyers are definitely going to be giving the seller a negative fb and make a comment about it. Also check out their refund policy, maybe you can return it if you end up not liking it.

Also, be aware that perfume goes off. If it's not stored properly, or if it's been over six months, the scent can start to change and even smell pretty iffy. Perfume has to be moved fairly quickly, otherwise it spoils.

You can always ask if they have a receipt. Or make sure it's still sealed up in it's box cause perfume changes odor when expose to light. Have you tried looking at other websites or going to a department store asking if there's any way to order it.

It really is a buyer-beware situation. If the company has a great rating (over 97%) chances are you are getting what you want. I never do business with any company or person who has less than a 95% rating. (And I'd not use them if there is anyone with a higher rating selling the same thing.)

Buyer beware always w/ eBay.
Be thankful it wasn't a HUGE purchase (i.e. car, tickets, etc.) and shrug it off.
OR if you paid via Paypal, you can try to dispute it for item not matching it's description.
Good luck!
