i have my first Moonflower plant this year and after the blooming stopped it is now producing these Pear shaped fruits. I assume these are the seed pods. how should they be handled? Dried on the plant or removed before this? Are they poisonous? Thanks for your help!

Let them mature on the plant. Do Not pick them green, the seeds won't be viable. When the pods begin to open collect them for use later. Or shake the seeds into a bag while still on the plant. Careful of the spiney pod.

Datura is an hallucinogen, but I'm not telling which part.

NOOOOOOOO... do not do Datura anything. My boyfriend tripped on everything for years and was typically the "guide" for all his friends because he could handle his trips. His mother found him naked in his bed with a lighter trying to burn the worms that were burrowing into his skin. Datura put him in the hospital for two nights, he was threatening to kill his best friend because he saw a demon rather than his buddy. He tore the restraints and kept pulling at his IV tubes. What he remembers of it, he did NOT have a good time. The seeds are dangerous because 1 strong seed can have as much active chemical as a 100 weak seeds. Some of his friends barely tripped at all, and one was put in a nuthouse in Florida.... after ONE trip. Almost everyone remembered being somewhat blind and all got naked, though they don't remember getting naked. The girl he ate the seeds with was found laying in a puddle in the middle of the road in town NAKED.... alive but NAKED. If you feel you need to trip....mushrooms, keep it tame. I hope you don't regret doing drugs when you are older like most people do.

I'm not sure if they are poisonous or not. But my aunt has these she picks them and places them in a basket to dry you dont want to cover them up with a lid because they need air otherwise they will mold and be worthless.... You can pick them before they dry on plant or after ..
