I saw it on DirecTV last night on Channel 247. If you get that you can tune in there. I don't know if that's just for the playoffs or not. I don't know why they went off in Atlanta.

Ummmmm, really folks why not simply go to the source and get the right answers, rather than this inaccurate speculation? If you go to www.peachtreetv.com you will find the following about Braves Baseball:
"Peachtree TV is the new home of your Atlanta Braves. Beginning in April 2008 and continuing through the regular season, don't miss a second of the action with 45 games telecast live right here on Peachtree TV."
Then to complete the picture, The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports the following:
" The Superstation will in fall become a local station called Peachtree TV, when Turner Broadcasting System changes the format of WTBS in Atlanta.
Turner reported late June 27 that WTBS will become WPCH on Oct. 1. The network will feature nightly blockbuster prime-time movies and a daytime line-up packed with sitcoms targeted to the Atlanta audience, such as Family Guy, The King of Queens, The Cosby Show, Seinfeld, The Steve Harvey Show, Friends and Frasier. Peachtree TV will also bring local viewers 45 Atlanta Braves baseball games called by fan favorites Skip Caray, Chip Caray and Joe Simpson.
While Peachtree TV takes over the local broadcaster position currently held by WTBS, TBS' national cable feed will become available to Atlanta's local cable and satellite operators, offering the network's signature comedy programming.
"Through the evolution of WTBS into Peachtree TV, we will use our existing Atlanta broadcast platform in a way that will truly resonate with local viewers and give our Atlanta advertisers better and more focused access to their targeted consumers," said Mark Lazarus, president of Turner Entertainment Group. "At the same time, this initiative offers local cable and satellite operators and their customers more viewing options by giving them access to both Peachtree TV and the national TBS cable network."
And there you have it, a little bit of research effort produces the real answers!!

RE:
What happened to TBS in Atlanta?
Channel 17 has been in Atlanta for many years. I was looking forward to seeing the baseball playoffs, but now theres some station called Peachtree TV which shows old sitcoms all day none of which I like. I am disappointed that loyal Atlanta viewers of WTBS have been snubbed and can't see the...

Very simple -- America's Team gave way to America's greed.
Here in Atlanta, WTBS became WPCH (or Peachtree TV), and is essentially the same station : sitcoms, a movie every night, etc. No more baseball, though.
TBS moved elsewhere on the dial, and didn't change, either, except they no longer air Braves baseball exclusively. They're going for the national audience, instead of a regional one.

They announced after the last Brave game that they were going National, starting immediately with the playoffs and to a game of the week schedule next year (not necessarily the Braves).
I don't know what is going to happen with local coverage of the Braves next year., but I am dissapponted at the decision as I understand it.

Wow! I don't really know why they did it, except maybe for money?? It seems like everything has to do with money now days. I knew they were changing, but I didn't realize people in the Atlanta area weren't going to get to see the playoffs! They really messed up, didn't they!?!?!? I know it's going to suck next year when we can't watch the Braves all season. I can't believe they've messed things up that bad! Shame on them!!!!!!
