MOST inkjets (and lasers) will refuse to print if ANY are empty with good reason.

In an inkjet, no ink in 1 meant the heads will dry out and overheat becoming unrepairable.

On a laser the toner is also the lubricant, so an empty cart can damage other components in the printer.

Sorrt, but nothing you can do other than buy new ink

I have an HP business inkjet 1100 an even if you change the options to b & w only it still will not print unless you have all the color cartridges installed correctly and they are full of ink. That's just the way it is... I hate it.

Your printer underlays colour to print black.
The black you have in your printer is not a true black, it does need to be darkened and sharpened using addition colours.

You need to replace the cartridges if you wish to print.

There should be an option to print in black and white in the printer properties window.

You can choose b and w or color. Call the company and they will tell you what to do.
