Almost Nobody Ever Bring's Up 2Pacalypse Now When Talking About Pac People Alway's Bring Up All Eyez On Me , Me Against The World , Makavelli The 7 Day Theroy , I'm definitely the only one that feels this way, but I thin 2Pacalypse Now is 2Pac's best album after Me Against the World. I say that because Tupac was a much better socially conscious/political rapper than he was as a gangsta rapper. THERE, I SAID IT!! I guess that's why I love this album so much.

I kinda like it's sound. Like I stated earlier, it makes more raw. Once you listen to 2Pac raps, you could tell that there is a huge influence of preceding California heroes such as Ice Cube, Ice-T, or even Paris. 2Pac adressed social problems like police brutality, teenage pregnancy, poverty, drug use, etc. more so than he did on any of his succeeding albums. He may not have been able to beat any of the formentioned MCs in a rap battle, but with his thought provoking lyrics, it doesn't matter at all. Listen to the albums more powerful moments like "Words of Wisdom" or "Brenda's Got a Baby" and you'll agree. There are a few joints that are straight up gangsta tracks though. They're not as compelling or as good as the other more insightful joints, but they ain't bad. There's even a feel-good track within the militant ones ("If My Homie Calls"). The way I see it, this is probably one of the last great albums of the Afrocentric, right fist era of hip-hop (assuming it came after Apocalypse 91...). I don't know how many people will agree this one is a sleeper classic. A lot of people didn't see it back in the day, probably because of the production. A lot of people won't see it now, because of the production, the rookie-sounding flow in some of the songs, and the fact that it just ain't as great as Me Against the World.

Regarding the album, it's Tupac's rawest album. It's sound is a little unpolished, but that makes it more raw in my opinion. The production is unfinessed, and considering the tracks that Dr. Dre, ATCQ, Large Professor, and the Bomb Squad were doing, it sounds a little dated, even for '91

I cannot agree more with you! I though everyone had forgotten about 2Pacalypse Now. When I ask someone about their favorite album, they say something like Loyal to the Game, which is not what Tupac is.

His first album is what he really was. He always addressed the problems with their true names. The album had this unfinished touch.. What I want to say is that it seemed like he made those songs last night and no one else was working on them and it was all him in them!

This is my favorite album... I do like All Eyez On Me and all the others but that particular one the album which represents him in the best way!

I think it is because of All Eyez on Me album gets all the credit. Tupac is inducted in the Guinness book of World Records because of that album. It went platinum after 4 hours of it's release, but 2pacalypse Now is a real great album with songs like "If My Homie Calls" and "Brenda's Got A Baby" has a real deep message to it.

to sum it up .. as the generation that listens is younger they tend not to realize that the artist had previous good sh!t..part of the reason is that the stuff is unavailable AND no one tells them of it.. so its cool that the recognition is there but you have to go back from when they came to get a full understanding i think.. look at 50 - how to rob.. common was common sense and look at what J Dilla did before everybody started bandwagonin'.. wanna talk West Coast ? look at Quik ..at MC8 ..even E40..people don;t even remember "Sprinkle Me".. So its a lot of slept on albums.. these days.. everyone is bombarded with current stuff..not to say thats bad but look at some of that artist's previous work to get a full appreciation of him or her.

Its way slept on, Kurupt on Bang! off of The Doctars Advocate, says most dont know what pacs first album is... and its true. Its not his best but its up there, its better than All Eyez On Me, which is very overrated in my opinion. Pac sounds really different on this album, its more raw and his rapping seems faster.

Yeah, you're right.
It is his most slept on album, it's a "damn shame" no one really took to it.
Brenda's Got A Baby is my favorite song of his...that song gives me chills to this day, everytime I listen to it.

yeah a lot of people don't really remember 2pacalypse now. I remember when I bought it when it first came out, people did not really take to it. No one really listened to him til all eyez on me came out. I remember my older brother and his friends did not know pac til all eyez on me. I remember lending him the other pac cd's I had and told him to listen to it.

Of course I never got them back...lol.
