here in central Alberta, they've been yellow, brown, red, purple, pink, orange.... for a few weeks already. the ground is covered in fallen leaves, but still a lot on the trees. i've been picking up the nicest ones i find... bring them home, and photograph them. i love autumn. your question, and the other answers , help remind me how wonderful it is. thanks, everyone.

I am also in California. If you go into the sierras at the 6 to 9,000 ft. level you can find the fall changes in the deciduous trees. Above that altitude is the tree line. Below that altitude it isn't cold enough to convert the energy in the leaves to color. I was at Kings Canyon two weeks ago. The colors were beautiful.

I live in Georgia and the leaves aren't even close to turning here. Last year it was almost December before then changed and even then most had already fallen. It is more colorful in the mountains, but it is very beautiful when the leaves do turn.

I live 30 miles east of Cincinnati,Ohio and we had such a dry summer that the leaves are not changing colors at all this fall! We really need the rain badly!

I'm in MA and the trees are changing VERY slightly.
However, my friend was in New Hampshire last weekend and said there was NO change yet. I hope the colors come soon. I LOVE fall! It's so beautiful.

i live in yonkers new york,and the leaves are just about ready to change,im seeing a lot of yellows and wine colors,i know this is a pretty time of the year,but i get so depressed knowing that the winter is not far behind.
