If you are effectively studying then you should consider your test taking skills. Very many people are poor test takers and their grades suffer for that reason only.

http://www.testtakingtips.com/ offers some ideas on how to improve both your test taking and study skills.

Very often, the skill people suffer most on tests is interpreting the question. The number of tests that I see where someone has written an essay when the question asked for a list or where they've given a definition when the question asked for a discussion is mind-numbing.

Work on testing skills for starters. Answering questions here on answers is really good test-taking practice by the way. It requires that you interpret the question and then formulate an answer.

Have you ever studied standing up and walking around with absolutly no other sounds in the room. Some people study with the radio on but the mind tends to confuse all that information happening. Standing up might not be the greatest advice because some of us take tests more effectively if we do it the same way we study it. I don't believe that though. Another great way is by breaking the study sessions up into chunks by giving your self a 5 minute break every 15 minutes. Might seem like a waste of time but let's be honest. Some people just cannot keep their attantion for longer than that. Start eating higher protein meals which will feed your brain. Sugar and any other carb will only weigh your abilities down.

I used to be like that in college... You simply have to buckle down and find a cooler way to study... believe or not I learn alot more when I tutor and help other students in physics and mathematics... More than I ever learned inside the classroom. I teach to others in a study session and come out with a higher grade than expected. You see... friends can point out your weaknesses which is a good thing... because you will always be able to correct your mistakes when you see them on a test or quiz... or even on your job site for that matter. So work with someone is my answer to your question... It helps ALOT... Good luck... I know you can start making A's.

awww......I used to be the same way.....

Do not try to memorize everything. Understand what you are reading. Find out from your teacher what type of test they are going to give. For example if it is multiple choice, then you know you have to familiar with terms, concepts, etc.

If it is essay or short answer, you need to understand it in order to explain it properly. I know for me, sometimes definitions were harder since there were words that were so big. LOL. So I used my own words.

The main purpose is to have an understanding of it and to be able to explain it. I would recommend speaking to your teachers so they also can help you out. Dont lose hope. ALSO, my biggest mistake was not reading the questions properly. Also, if you can take a look at your past tests to see where you went wrong, it can better prepare you for future tests. Good luck!

Simply studying hard will not solve your problem. You concentrate in studies deeply, understand the text and write. So reading and writing simulteneously will make things easy. While studying do not move away or think anything.Study is worship.

You should manage your timetable in such a way that you give proper time to study as well for the relaxment and entertainment.
Your brain should also have time for rest to work properly. After managing timetable you shoule be strict to obey it.

while you are reading your lessons, write down the important points you feel on a piece of white paper , then after reading see that all you have read has been confined properly in the paper you have written, then only conentrate only on the matter on your paper.
for examinations, elaborate on the points you have made
