This is just a bit weird. Today in ICT, the teacher (female) was talking to a pupil (female) and suddenly began stroking her hair and running her fingers through it.
Then after the conversation was finished, wandered off. This strikes me as really odd? I dunno.
The pupil wasn't very happy about it, she was polite enough while it happened but afterwards she was a bit scared. Just wandering if you think this is weird?

Could well just be absent-minded, does the teacher have a daughter of her own? She might be in the habit of doing this with her daughter. Personally, I'd leave it this time, but if it (or anything else that makes you uncomfortable) happens again you should have a quiet word with another teacher who will know what to do.

No teacher should be touching a pupil, even innocently.

As much as I look at the incident inapropriate I also think there is a weakness in the school system. Both you and the "victim" lacked courage to stand up for what is not right. Even if you were not sure of it appropriateness courage would demand you ask the same teacher if what is doing is right or not. The school needs to review its teachings on social skills.

I presume that you are a student rather than a colleague. If it makes you feel uncomfortable you should really speak to your head of year. Your teacher really shouldn't be doing this as it is highly unprofessional. You won't get into trouble for 'grassing' but it might be wise to ask the girl who had her hair stroked to report it with you. If your head of year doesn't do anything or take you seriously then you should speak to one of the heads (Deputy or Assistant Head) who you feel you can talk to most.

However i would like to add that jumping to conclusions or spreading rumours about members of staff within a school can be very damaging to their professional career and their personal life. With this in mind you should speak to the people who need to know and not go announcing it from the top of the school.

Bring your camera to school and take a picture next time she does it and show it to the principal and see what the principal thinks. That oughta take care of the problem. The behavior could be "innocent" but teachers are trained not to do things like that, as it can be interpreted as sexual harassment even if it's just kindness, so any teacher who does a thing like that is breaking a rule, even if they aren't meaning to be creepy. BUT this incident sounds creepy. A pat on the back for making a nice drawing is different than what you described.

No teacher should touch a pupil. I suspect the teacher was doing it absent-mindedly but the pupil should have said something immediately. It's invasion of a person's personal space.

Hi there.
This is weird, non-harmful but definitely inappropriate. Your friend should move away or ask what is going on if this happens again, not necessarily in a confrontational way but clearly signalling that this is not acceptable.
If it continues after that, it will have to be reported.
Cheers, Steve.

Sounds a bit odd. Things like that are very unprofessional, but it's probably absent-minded on the teachers part - esp. if she has children/sisters/a weird hair fetish.

I wouldn't worry too much, but if she does it again, have a quiet word after class.

i don't understand that jointly with your term 'feral' infant you're suitable, as a feral infant is one that has been disadvantaged of human touch and has been intentionally remoted from the outdoors international, extremely a solid term to apply in this context. i think of that there must be a stability whilst it is composed of discipline, infants used to act because of the fact they knew what grew to become into coming in the event that they did not and this meant adults had the top hand, i think of if adolescents had extra admire and have been taught discipline from a youthful age there does not be the kind of 'in case you hit me, i'm going to get my mum on you' suggestions-set. i've got faith numerous the yob behaviour stems from adolescents not being inspired to strengthen up with pursuits and a concentration, its in elementary terms ever the disengaged adolescents that % to reason trouble as they have little or no else to concentration on. If infants are inspired to be extra lively and soak up interest, paintings, enjoying an device they could have issues to concentration their attempt on, too many adolescents are given no experience of direction and it fairly is the adults duty to try this.
