I took care of a lady just short of 93 for 6 months, she was bi-polar and every 3 days she would go off. She would scream and holler all night long and day, until her voice was gone--she was playing craps, and bingo and strip poker, you name it and all at the top of her lungs---Common 7 common 11, mama needs ya now. If I turned the lights on she would gripe -- I would dust and clean in semi-darkness to keep an eye on her, sometimes she would try and get out of bed. The longest she raved was 53 hours so I would say I was probably awake at least 48 of that time. By the way getting out of bed was not an option she could not stand or support herself and her poor old legs.

I stayed conscious for 39 hours as quickly as for the 30 Hour Famine in intense college.. I had to stand up and pass to college on Friday.. and then had to be conscious for 30 extra hours after that.. it sucked.. and that i wasnt' allowed to consume something. I ignored college for 2 days via fact i became so exhausted afterwards.. do you recognize that they say in case you opt for 10 days with out sleep in any respect which you will die?

Funny you should ask that. I just spent 30 hours with my young sister-in-law who was in labour. She likes to have me there during these times, and I like to be with her....but the previous two children took somewhat shorter times ! This was a marathon, which ended today with the birth of a precious little girl (who looked as exhausted as we were !) I'd been rubbing my sister-in-law's back almost the entire time, so my arms are feeling like aching rubber right now. I'm off to bed soon, just doing some YA's to wind down.

About 52 hours during Hurricane Gracie in the late 1950s. Then I slept for about 18 hours after.

I've stayed awake 48 hours plus on 2 different occasions. Physically it is the worst moment. It becomes almost impossible to sleep. I had to take little naps after to give myself time to readjust.

48 hours but that was with lots of friends hanging out having fun and hitting some pubs. On my own i would struggle to stay awake for 24 hours.

I have stayed awake for about 60 hours before. I eventually sat down in a comfortable chair and basically just passed out.
