Honestly I paid cash to get one when I was 21, because I don't want children.
That might not be a bad plan. Consider the fact that if the government puts up the tab for the delivery room alone it will be more than $10,000!

No, I've not known anyone at age 21 getting a vasectomy but I can tell you I had mine done when I was 25. Now some 25 years later, I can tell you that I have never lived with any regrets from having had my vasectomy.

No because I want children and always have, I am the last surviving male of my family line so my family name will die with my death, and that is very important to some people.
Second the US government wouldn't do that because our population is stable, the only increase we are getting is because of immigration and we have a lot of unused land in the US.
Nations like the Netherlands (Holland is a state of that nation) ha been paying families to have children for years because their population is decreasing.
It is only in third world nations that we have a increasing population problem that outstrips the food supply they can raise. So why should I and my nation pay for their lack of responsibility.
It won't stop the male sex drive, only castration would and very few men would agree to that. So it won't change the rape rate or the incidence of sexual abuse.
However, I have been in desperate enough straights because of my disability that I would have gladly taken the operation and the pain to get the money and that would have been wrong.

I think that that would be a better plan in third world countries, where poverty and over population is a problem.
I think the united states (I'm not sure who set it up the government or an indy organization) had a program where drug addicted women or mothers could get sterilized and get a sum of money.

If I was a man and the government gave me 10,000 dollars they have to realize every 10 years it needs to be repeated.Are they going to give you the same offer every 10 years?My brother in law went thru 3 of them and he said wife its your turn. It was a good thing they found cancer and removed everything. It saved her life.Before the first they have kids and now beautiful grand kids.

Joe C: It may make sexual pigs....but they are already that way. With a vasectomy they are not making unwanted children and still don't have to change their ways.

if i was a man then yea because people have sex all the time with out precaution and there are alot of fatherless children which is really unfair if you didnt want a kid in the first place.
