Boucher’s record of 396 dismissals (378 catches and 18 stumpings) in 103 tests surpasses the record previously held by Sir Ian Healy of Australia, who made 395 dismissals in 119 tests, personally makes me feel so happy & proud, he has been a great, solid performer for his team, his remarks were always the top and very well appreciated, that record may never be surpassed if they decrease the amount of Test cricket played.
Mark Boucher (SA): 103 Tests; 396* dismissals, catches 378, stumpings 18
Ian Healy (Aus): 119 Tests, 395 dismissals, 366 catches, 29 stumpings.
The only other wicketkeepers to claim more than 300 Test victims is Australian Adam Gilchrist (381), Gilchrist, five years older than Boucher, is likely to retire next year.

Murali,
Boucher hails from South Africa, and has obviously played a lot of matches in SA. The pitches in SA are bouncy type wickets. More chances of a wicket keeper getting an edge rather than other fielders.
Having said that, there were many players who played for SA, and why didnt they have such a record? The truth is Boucher rarely misses on a stumping or catch, while other former keepers of SA missed here and there.
No credit taken away from Boucher, he is a good keeper!

Yeah I'm proud to be South African right now. I think Boucher did amazing to reach where he is right now, but records are meant to be broken and who knows maybe someone will break Boucher's record in the future, after all cricket is always going to evolve as a game. Switching topics a little but I think same with Kallis' 2 hundreds, that guy is really out to prove the selectors wrong.

Yes. He has broken the record of ian Healey. and [presently hold the record for most dismissals by a Wicket keeper. Great achievement.

Yes.
But Gilchrist is close after him with better rate of dismissals/match.
Boucher being younger can still maintain the lead as far as total victims is concerned and get to a huge record not easy to surpass.

I'm really happy for Bouchie. He deserves the record. It's really wonderful. I think the record will be his for a while because Gilly won't be playing forever. I'd love if both of them headed the list. They're the best.

Its obviously a fantastic achievement so well done to him .
However I would suggest that there have been better all round keepers as he has only very limited experience of keeping to spin
I would go for Alan Knott who was a fantastic keeper , and watching him standing up to Underwood on a turning wicket was just fantastic.
I would assume some of our Asian readers would go for one of thier keepers who stood up to many great spinners .??
