the Diana Tregarde books by Mercedes Lackey (recently rereleased, I believe)--Burning Water, Children of the Night, Jinx High
classified as urban fantasy--suspense, borderline horror (vampires, witches, human sacrifice, etc.)

I suggest Tim Lebbon's duology "Dusk" and "Dawn". He usually writes horror, but came out with this decent little dark fantasy series last year.
