Not too much. It is atomic number 86. All isotopes are radioactive. I believe the least unstable isotope is Rd222, which is one of the longer-lived daughters in the U238 decay chain. Thus, some radium exists naturally.

Much of the research on it was done by Pierre and Marie Curie (from which the radioactive unit, the curie, was named) in the late 1890s and for many years thereafter.

Formerly, it was in use to make watch face parts luminous. This was before its radioactive properties were well known, and the workers would apply the radon as a solution with a brush. They would "point" the brush by pressing the brush through their lips. Many workers developed cancer and died.
