Liberals, because they preach tolerance, however if you disagree with their social manifesto they label you as a homophobe, racist, right wing Christian, war-hawk....what ever suits their purpose.

Neither and both.
We need to get the hatefulness and anti-the-other-side rhetoric out of the air or we will never be able to move forward.
BOTH "Liberals" and "Conservatives", and anybody really interested in politics and policy, care about and want the best for their locality, their nation, and mankind. Where they differ is in the historical and philosophical underpinnings of what that means, and how to go about it. The opposite of "Liberal" or "Conservative" is not "Conservative" or "Liberal"; it's apathetic and disinterested.
We spend too much time playing the game of politics and policy, especially us 'laymen' as if it was a sport...our team versus your team, the red versus the blue, with all the irrational jingoism that goes with it. This is not a sport, it's not a game, it's life and it's history and it affects the lives of every human being on the planet.
I'm going to make up a political party here so as not to be misquoted or misunderstood. We're going to have our little party called the Repulicatarians. What I say below goes for any public servant or Citizen of any party or no party.
If a Repulicatarian is true to his principles, the basic principles of public service, and the principles of right or wrong, he or she will support the policies and people he or she believes will advance the greater good. He or she should also oppose those who clearly break the law and do wrong, because he or she took an oath to the PEOPLE OF THE (State/County/Nation), and that is who they serve, not a party.
When we huddle in and only talk to those of like minds, when we 'demonize' the other side, when we value team colors red vs. blue over the red AND white AND blue what we're REALLY doing is handing over our democracy lock-stock-and-barrel to PARTY leadership...like the Soviet Union or China.
The Soviet Union had elections, too, they just didn't get a choice on which PARTY to vote for, and what that means is that the PARTY LEADERSHIP runs the country, not the elected government....and the Politburo had a LOWER incumbent retention rate than does the US Congress....think about it...

I find this a very hard question to answer, as both sides seek to exploit Americans. Both sides constantly spew propaganda that either Joe Stalin or Adolph Hitler would've been proud of. The middle class is being sacrificed on the alter of free trade & the NAFTA Bible, while ever cheaper labor is being imported at the same time jobs are being outsourced to enhance corporate profit. Imported products are not inspected to insure safety or quality... chuckle, corporations will police themselves.
I am an independent that resents both parties & their public relations (propaganda) firms that control the American public.

Liberals by far are more hateful. I know many liberals and if you say the word Bush they go off on some crazy rant. I am a conservative and have many conservative friends and we never hated Clinton we joked about him and thought he was wrong. Liberals hate Bush you can see it in there eyes. In general Liberals have a deep hate and are very negitive about the state of the country.

Modern liberals who really arent anything like traditional liberals are the most hateful- I call them leftist because the term liberal really doesnt work for them. They are narrow minded and Stalinistic in their tactics. It is a sad day in America when we cannot have an honest debate about the issues because these people are more interested in personal smear campaigns and advancing a blindly ideological agenda than in working for the betterment of this nation.

I have to say both. Conservatives seem to not tolerate anybody, especially the older ones. Many of them don't seem to like interracial dating/marriage/kids, interracial friendships, or any kind of thing that resembles diversity or youth today. They always have that suspicious look on their face and their downright miserable even when someone is nice to them.
Liberals, on the other hand, many of them are fake. They blindly rant and are quick to be bleeding hearts for a cause but don't realize they are discriminating just as they are protesting. Its people's right to be religious, to not agree with other races/lifestyles, as long as they aren't hateful and outright prejudice towards them.

People on the extremes tend to be very hateful.
I personally dont hate liberals, I just cannot stand for some of the things some of them stand for.
I love to discuss things with rational liberals, but if all I am going to hear is a scream of Haliburton, or "Bush lied and people died" then I would rather go watch grass grow.
You can have your opinion and you can state it rationally and maybe even back something up with facts then I am here to listen, as a conservative.

As a simple observation, I have seen some pretty nasty things from BOTH sides. However, typically it's the liberals who seem to get more fired up about things. NEVER did you see conservatives call Clinton some of the things I have heard liberals call Bush. And NEVER did I ever hear conservatives accuse liberals of being kool aid drinking fascist Nazis. I guess liberal tolerance only exists if what you believe in doesn't threaten their chance to get your vote. Don't believe me? Look how many "thumbs down" some of the answers received that did little more than answer your question and offer an explanation as to why. (wonder how many thumbs down I'll get?)
