Hookup the video cable from laptop to projector. After turning on the laptop and the projector you might have to toggle the screen by holding down the FNC key and hit F8 I think.

Projectors are usually very laptop compatible . you need to ascertian where the output connector on your laptop is, and use the propper cable, but this should be self evident. Most projectors willnot require anything in terms of special software, they are basically just a monitor. Additional software is supplied by most projector firms to use special pointing hardware (other than the Laptops mouse or Pad, complete network connection, so forth, nothing a simple from the laptop presentation really requires. However, most windows operation systems will require you go to the Graphic properties pop up ( right click on any blank area of the desktop background) and set the menu to recognize the second monitor as a DUPLICATE, not extended screen. The second screen, (the Projector) should be noted on the pop up, and swtching to the projector, should bring up a new setting screen that allows you to set up your options just as for the main screen. You will want to keep both ON , as you will be selecting your slides and pointing things out and mousing about on the laptop. Yes, there are sophisticated , for the projector stuff, usually something extra that must be bought though. the remote for the projector mostly just accesses internal menus for color setting, , on/off and such like. As this is a borrowed projector, you wont be doing much of that. What happens on your laptop will just be shown also on the projector, and for a first use, first presentation, this would be the safest way to go. Run through the presentation and set up long before the actual presentation and be sure you know what you need to do first, obviously. Oh, you will have to adjust the projectors focus, and likely day/night brightness settings for the presentation, so do get familiar with the controls, focusing and menu system. This should only take a half hour of your time, as they are largely not rocket science. If the manual is available, Id read it, were I you.

Most projectors are compatable with all brands of laptops. You will need a VGA cable or a S-Video cable to hook your laptop to the projector. After doing so, turn on the computer and the projector. After the projector warms up you should see your screen being projected on the wall. If you dont, you may have to hit a series of keys such as the function key + the key that has a little monitor on it.(normally F2 or F3).

Does your projector have a VGA input (same as a PC monitor) or just TV style s-video inputs?

If it has VGA you can just plug your laptop into it using a 15-pin VGA cable, otherwise you'll need support for TV-out on your laptop.

Once you have the laptop connected to the projector you may need to hit a key on the keyboard to redirect your screen to the external monitor port - usually this involves pressing the "fn" key on your laptop and one of the F-keys at the top (it'll have a small picture of a monitor on it, most likely).

Then the projector will work just like your computer's display and you can use Powerpoint as you would normally.

no software is needed other than what you have. you'll connect your laptop using the cables from the projector. normally, to enable the projector, from the laptop, you hit alt f8. on your f keys, there should be a picture of a screen or it might say monitor...hold the alt key down and hit that f key at the same time. doing it once will display on both the laptop and the projector, a 2nd time will display only on the projector.

simply next screen in ppt .

Good luck!

You don't need software for a projector and more than you need software for a monitor. That's just silly.

There should be a cable that connects the projector to a video output on your laptop. Once that's hooked up, you just run powerpoint like you normally would.

Plug the projector into the output in the back of the CPU. Then you will notice on your keybboard a F7 key. Using the FN and F7 key together will allow you to switch the output between your screen, the projector, or your screen and the projector.

All a projector does is project exactly what is on the screen. You'll probably just hook it up to your VGA port on the back of your notebook and all will be good.

Sounds like your laptop may not support screen echo (laptop screen and external screen on at the same time) .. check your setttings. I think the blank green screen is an indication from the projector that it is not getting a signal.
