This is the oldest trick in the book. Conservatives always give tax cuts resulting in monstrous amounts of debt, and then complain when a Democrat takes over and has to end the tax cuts to get us back out of debt. Happened with Reagan, Bush Sr., and Bush Jr.

As a crunch con I must say you are correct in saying that conservatives have squandered a lot of money. As a crunchy con I am both very sad and disappointed in the conservative politicians in our government. But it's no secret that Dems have a sexual fetish for raising our taxes. If the money wasn't there then the cons couldn't spend it.

You will have to redefine squander to make that statement true, at least in the sense that is meant. Democrats do a far better job of squandering. Yes, 9/11 gave Bush cause to consider increasing the size of government. For now, I see it as an unwelcome necessity. You could try to consider the cost of going to war vs the cost of not defending the national interests, but that will always be speculation. At any rate, it was Congress who gave the green light on going to war, and I agreed with what they did, still do.

Let me say this.
No one, conservatives or liberals, should not have the right to spend more money than is brought it, except in the case of a national emergency. (And by "national emergency", I would specifiy that means a direct conflict, such as the three weeks in Iraq, or a national emergency, such as Katrina.) This should be a basic principle both sides can agree upon, but can't.

They're both squandering the money.
They're even squandering the INCREASED amount of tax REVENUE that is being raised as a result of the reduction of tax RATES.
There is never a reason why you'd "have to" raise taxes. Bush '41 raised tax rates, and federal revenue fell 2.1%. Many people said "well he had to" raise tax rates - why'd he "have to" reduce federal revenue? How'd that help the budget?

So when the President vetos another wild liberal spending bill it's "mean to kids", but it's the conservatives who squander money? The Democrats control both houses of Congress last time I looked.

The liberals want to tax more and give it to the poor people.
I dont want my taxes going to the poor
I want my taxes to build roads and schools and defend my country thats where conservatives put it
I dont want nobody to raise taxes that cuts jobs
The rich invest money or spend it you cut their money by raising taxes then you cut jobs
Whether your working for someone else of you have your own business you have to rely on the rich to spend or invest money. If you increase their taxes thats less money for them to spend or invest
Yall dont remember the Jimmy Carter days do you?

Its true that this administration has done a pathetic job of balancing the budget but at least they didn't raise taxes and then spend it recklessly. And you know that is exactly what the dems are going to do.

Both parties squander money. Its the only thing they do well together.
If you really think that one party squanders the money, dont vote. End the two-party system.

Sorry both parties in Congress are responsible for squandering our hard earned tax dollars. To place the blame on one party or the other is dishonest........
