Lose electrons since metals are surplus in electrons and give them up easily and the non-metals accept the electrons. Both reach stable electronic configurations and thus form stable compounds.

the ans will be lose electron..metals react chemically will undergo OXIDATION..to formed 2 positive ions!!!so it is losing electron
