No, they are not. If they say that they mean it. Just the fact that they didn't bash the hell out of you for disagreeing makes me respect them. Not actually defend to the death, but for you having the right to disagree. It is refreshing to hear anyone from either side say that. I am a Democrat by the way.

If I were I wouldn't have spent the last 4 years of my life in the Middle East defending your freedoms.

Additionally, 82% of the military is right of center and only 9% claim to be either "liberal" or "very liberal" per a Military Times poll.

So, the majority of people who defend this nation and her citizen's rights are "cons" as you so eloquently put it.

No, We mean it. That pretty much is the whole idea behind freedom of speech. We also reserve the right to state our side of the argument though, but we would never infringe on your right to do the same.

Oh, and since Arglebargle blocks anyone who does not hold the same opinions as he does, I don't think he defends anyone's right to free speech.

Being we are the ones that actually defend this country (for the most part) yes we mean it. I dont agree with much the left says or does but for the most part it is their right to say and do. Most of them need to go to a few classes on the Constitution that they apparently know nothing about but we cant force that upon them- freedom and all.

No of course not. We're all Americans first, or should be. I see nothing sinister in that statement at all. I think an appropriate response would be "Thanks, I feel the same." There's nothing wrong with finding common ground.
