I'm laughing as I'm typing this, but I have a feeling that some people don't think it's scripted, that these grudges are "real life" and that outcomes are not pre-determined.

Seriously...are you one of them?

I am smart enough to know that's it's scripted...and I am smart enough to know that they wrestlers know how to do their moves & not hurt their competitors, but these guys and girls have to be amazing athletes to do what they do. They get hurt...they bleed...they have significant injuries (ask John Cena). But..yes...to answer your question I am NOT one of those people who think it's real.

When I was younger (about 3-4 years ago) I thought all wrestling was real, but now I know that most wrestling is scripted. Then again who doesn't get mad at a best friend (Cena and Orton or even HBK and HHH) and doesn't want to pummel their boss (Stone Cold and Vince McMahon). My point is that it is scripted with personal stuff thrown in to make it seem more realistic. There are also probably turns in the storyline in which one part of the feud doesn't know about so the real feelings of betrayal, embarrassment, and ultimate defeat are shown.

Older followers look at wrestling in a diverse way. because of the fact it does take particularly some athleticism to pull off what they do. i actually am an older wrestling fan, and that i glance at it as entertainment. all of us understand that's fake. We savour it besides. that's interesting to observe the sport and look at 'how' they pull of specific strikes, and what judgements the wrestlers make to push or carry back specific stars. understanding greater approximately something facilitates you savour it and savor it greater. I recommend you lease a dvd called 'previous the Mat'. that's going to open your eyes and additionally you will look at professional wrestling in a diverse way. BTW: UFC suits many times in basic terms final like...3-5 minutes if that. Why would you opt to place funds right into a PPV to make certain a quick overhyped combat? area of professional-wrestling's attraction is that's a area acrobatics, and area theatre...its not very just about the suits. Many different worldwide places do not look down on professional-wrestling and consider it as a interest...ie; Japan,Mexico and Canada. Its unlucky human beings stereotype and are available to a variety maximum issues that they don't understand.

I agree. Adolescents may not have the capacity to see the "business" wrestling is. Not even WWE thinks they are real. They call themselves "SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT."

Wreslting, as scripted as it may be, is not a "real" sport like NFL, NBA or even UFC but it brings athletic aspects to a TV show. You cannot deny the fan base it has and until the UFC hit it's peak recently, pro-wrestling had a stranglehold on PPV buys and hs been traditionally one of the if not the top rated show on cable tv.

It takes an athlete to be a pro wrestler, with a complete life dedication being on the road most of the week and actually competing in front of an audience twice a week at least.

It's not the UFC or even boxing but injuries happen. Did you not see the champion and one of the main guys in recent years went down with a COMPLETE tear of his pec? Other injuries consist of even career ending ones that involve neck and back injuries. All which happened in "fake" matches.

Call them professional stuntmen or even athletic actors if you will, but "fake" pro wrestling definently takes "real" dedication and a "real" athlete.

Well after visiting my cousin in the hospital after his last major injury due to being a professional wrestler in ECW (he had broke his hip due to a fall) it is real in the point of people do get hurt doing this. Pro wrestling is entertainment for the masses who want a Soap Opera that is entertaining.

So point to remember, if you need someone to cheer for watch a sporting event, but if you want a hero for your kids, TURN OFF THE TV and be the HERO they really want, a Mom or Dad who actually care about their family enough to take time out of their day to be there for their family! I do realize some people need to work two or three jobs to make ends meet for their family but set aside even a half hour to be there for your family, it is the time your kids will treasure for a lifetime.

Of course the wrestling is real but the storylines and match outcomes are fake. Most of the interviews aren't scripted but the backstage skits are. Im not that stupid.

looking on the interent they mix a wrestling sport with feuds, apparently they compare it to an ENTERTAINING sport like monster trucks! thy put there bodies through so much to entertain fans, besides, it also says that ameteur wresting is real, they do it at american schools, according to a book i read, WWE is the next stage up! but yh i agree with the scripts and stuff, and the pre-determined thing, u never really can guess that can you due to injuries, with an interview with matt hardy he was put in a match that the WWE thought he would loose, he ended up winning a title from it!

It is scripted, but I also have to say being to a wrestling event upclose I know that that floor is hard! And when someone gets thrown over someone else and lands on that wrestling floor...it's gonna hurt! So yeah it's scripted but people can really get hurt out there. *smiles*

well some teenagers may think that wrestling is real... i think only mature people (20 +) are fully aware that the storylines are fake and scrippted, and that only the moves are real, and that the wrestlers need to go to a wrestling school before actually doing what they do in the ring...
