I dont think many conservatives even know what the definition of liberal is. To many its a curse word. I think THESE people we call Liberals are not Liberal at all. They are something different. They believe in unfettered abortion, THIS IS NOT a liberal attribute. They want gun control. This is also NOT a liberal attribute. They want big government and tax hikes. This is definately NOT a liberal attribute. So what gives?

You don't want to hear it but, liberals (not necessarily Democrats but the more extreme left) do want more social programs which creates bigger government. Who else is going to administer the program?

Liberals need tax hikes to pay for the new programs.

Liberals also believe in unrestricted abortion. Conservatives do not.

And liberals believe in gun control to varying degrees. Some want total gun control. Conservatives believe in a strict interpretation of the 2nd Amendment.

Most Americans fall into the middle of the spectrum.

I'm not convinced that you know what liberalism is.

The left has gone to great extremes and have taken the liberal label with them. You are correct that nothing they are currently doing would be acceptable to mid twentieth century liberalism but they have moves so far to the left that they make Hubert Humphrey look like Rush Limbaugh. That has also forced many that would otherwise have been liberal into the moderate area and even the conservative area.

That is why no one running for president from either party will refer to themselves as being a liberal. Not one. While on the other hand all of the Republican candidates claim to be conservative on all the issues that really count and the argument is which is most conservative.

Today's conservatives are much more moderate than yesterday's conservatives. Just ask Pat Buchanan.

I don't think that there are many liberals who understand the definition of liberal either. Just as most of today's conservatives don't understand the definition of conservative. Unless considered in relation to a particular issue, these labels are meaningless anyway.

When someone decided that the Democrats should represent all liberals and the Republicans should represent all conservatives they caused a split in the political discussion in this country that may never be overcome.

The media has perpetuated this false party affiliation to the point that the words Democrat and liberal, Republican and conservative, are interchangeable. Since we are all both liberal and conservative, depending on the particular issue, neither party can actually claim that they represent all conservatives or all liberals.

John Edwards, Hillary Clinton, and Barrack Obama, have all advocated more restrictive gun measures, tax increases (semantics, if you would rather say repealing the Bush tax cuts), and an expanded role of government, particularly in health care.

If you have another word to describe them besides "liberal", I am interested to hear it.

BTW, a very select few support unfettered abortion. Abortion should be a state decision, not a federal one, anyway.

It seems that a lot of people stereotype. It's easier for a limited mind to do that than to think of people as individuals. So, instead of having individuals with liberal and conservative view, we have "Libs" and "Cons."

Liberals and conservatives both have some very bright people. Unfortunately, those who talk the most seem not to be among those.

It is also unfortunate that some of those abuse their freedom of speech. Were that not the case, we might have a forum for intelligent dialog.

But it's ok, it's not their fault. If they're a "Lib," it's the "Con's" fault. If they're a "Con," it's the fault of the "Libs." One thing they share... the inability to take responsibility for their self-inflicted idiocy. Another thing they share, as Buy American pointed out... neither of them really know what they're talking about.

What is gives is the actions of liberals is how I get my hint.

My mother use to say "I can't hear you because what you do speaks so loud I can't hear what you have to say."

Pro-Choice: Liberal and anytime someone mention regulations of any kind is met with a fury of protests.

Gun control: Liberals are the one who are going around demanding more gun control sure isn't the likes of the NRA.

Now when a liberals in Congress want to silence 1 talk show host over a twisted and taken out of context quote.

Now here is what is bother me about liberals they can't admit to it.

Conservatives can and you don't see Rush or others deny their conservativism.

Yet you apporach Hillary with that question she won't answer it.

That is what gives.

Well Little Red Riding Hood, I think you have stepped outside your area of expertise, you should focus on bringing cookies to gramma, and stop fussing with politics of uncle GW.

I think the wolf must have scared you silly because your rant is meaningless.
