How about the styles of music they played (Elvis was Rock'n'Roll, Dylan is more folk rock). Dylan was more political and social issues while Elvis stuck to more love songs and generally music which made people feel good. Including the way they sing, Elvis had a great voice, Dylan...not so much.

Elvis was involved in more than just music and was in a lot more movies and in TV much more.

Elvis had much more commercial success including much more #1 songs and charting songs compared to Dylan (who never had a #1 song).

Discussing of the people in music and society who the two artist influenced. Dylan influenced so many people especially when you look at the bands and people who covered his songs (byrds, hendrix, turtles, manfred man, rod stewart, the hollies, etc...) Dylan showed more critial acclaim.

but its true they are hard to compare, but elvis rose to fame in the 50s and early 60s, early rock n roll. While dylan lead the folk rock/protest generation in the mid 60s which lead to many acts from the 70s.

Elvis is an extremely gifted singer, and there is no person like him alive, yet to assert he's the excellent singer ever, that's greater than a number of singers and genres. Elvis may be the excellent accepted singer interior the 20 th century. comparable. Bobby is my famous song author of all time, inspite of the shown fact that that being stated, there is greater than a number of genres accessible. i'm content textile with calling him the poet Laureate of Rock track.

Comparison...they both popularised their genres...for Elvis, it was rock; for Dylan, it was folk, and then folk-rock.
Dylan may have been more important than Elvis in one way...if there were no Elvis, there would still be rock....but there would be no folk-rock without Dylan...he, along with the Byrds covering his songs, single-handedly created it.
