Its irrelevant what she said to you, you own them money and they want it back. Try to pay some off they will accept that rather than nothing.

Unfortunately your in a bad spot,The truth is they want you to give them a reason to repo then they can resell your car and make more money,My advice to you is get caught up anyway you can get it paid for,Or you will lose every thing you paid plus the car,And dont trust a word they tell you if they know where the car is and your late they will grab it,Sorry but this is the truth

if you had a written hp agreement they cannot reposess after a certain pre -agreed amount has been paid.you sound as though you have a private agreement with a dealer,in which case, you have no rights, you must have signed something ,read it and see.You have phoned her since the repo men came??it may have been an oversight, some computers automatically send them .

I have heard that is 4 months, but I couldn't tell you for sure since I have never had a car repo'd. I do know that they can send the repo man all they want, but if they can't find your car then there is nothing they can do......and if you have it inside a garage they can't go in to take it.

When I worked in an arrears dept. as long as a customer was paying, even if it's less then expected, and keeping us informed of their suituation we would accept them being a few months behind. I don't see how it can be legal to lie about what they are doing.

Technically, they are within their rights to repossess the vehicle even if it is a day late. To save your credit, I would do everything possible to get up to date with the loan. If you can't, I would contemplate selling the car. It's not worth a repossession.
